How much am I going to get?
Jeff: No lawyer can have a first meeting with you and be able to tell you what's your damages are and how much a jury is likely to award. It's a complex question and the only way to get a good estimation of it is to fully develop a case, to understand all aspects of it, and that generally takes time.
Frank: The other thing I would add to that is that all civil cases have two parts. They have liability and they have damages. And we have to do the work we need to do to develop the liability facts and then the damages part has a lot to do with the diagnosis and prognosis of an individual's medical condition and sometimes in the complex cases it takes time to know what the end of the story is going to be on the medical condition.
Jeff: And so a lot of different factors go into that formula, but the most important one is the case has to be fully developed before anybody can give you an idea about what it's worth.
